Hurst Named Director of the Dept. of Ark. Heritage

Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission - Tuesday, January 27, 2015

Governor Asa Hutchinson has named Stacy Hurst of Little Rock as the new director of the Department of Arkansas Heritage. Hurst replaces Martha Miller, who resigned earlier this month. Miller had served as director for the past two years.

Hurst, a graduate of the University of Arkansas, has been a Little Rock city director since 2003. She served as former vice mayor of Little Rock and was a previous chair of the board of trustees for The Nature Conservancy of Arkansas.

Hurst and her husband own and operate five Tipton & Hurst locations in central Arkansas.

The Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission (ANHC) is one of seven agencies that make up the Department of Arkansas Heritage (DAH), including the Arkansas Arts Council, Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, Delta Cultural Center in Helena, Historic Arkansas Museum, Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, and the Old State House Museum. ANHC shares DAH’s mission of preserving and enhancing the heritage of the state of Arkansas.
