WAMN Hosts Work Day at Adopted Natural Area

Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission - Tuesday, February 27, 2018

The Western Arkansas Master Naturalists (WAMN) recently held a work day at Cherokee Prairie Natural Area in Franklin County. The WAMN has adopted the natural area through the ANHC’s Adopt a Natural Area Program (ANAP).

Volunteers met at the natural area and picked up trash along Highway 60 and Highway 271 where the highways cut through the prairie. Originally, the WAMN had planned to clean out Prairie Creek, but after recent rains, the creek project was postponed to a later date.

WAMN members Margaret Deuster, Alice Goodlin, Dana Howard, Jay Randolph, and Eloise Johnston participated in the event. ANHC extends our appreciation to them and to members of all of our ANAP groups.
