Additional Event Details

Endangered Species Day (ESD), observed on May 17 each year, is a celebration of our nation's rare wildlife and wild places. Started in 2006 by the U.S. Congress, ESD is an opportunity to learn about endangered species. The 10th Annual Arkansas Endangered Species Day Art Contest provides K-12 students with an opportunity to learn about Arkansas's endangered and threatened species and express their knowledge and support through artwork. The deadline for submissions is April 6, 2019. For more information, including rules, judging criteria, and species biographies, visit the contest website at https://www.fws.gov/arkansas-es/esdaycontest.html . The contest is organized by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Arkansas Ecological Services Field Office, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission.
