Additional Event Details

Growing up WILD is an early childhood education program that builds on a child's sense of wonder about nature and invites them to explore wildlife and the world around them. Through a wide range of activities and experiences, Growing Up WILD provides an early foundation for developing positive impressions about the natural world and lifelong social and academic skills. This Project Learning Tree (PLT) Early Childhood workshop features activities to encourage young children to explore the senses, the seasons, and neighborhood trees. The activities highlight the importance of kinetic learning and engagement by incorporating music and movement using an accompanying music CD. Materials are correlated to the National Head Start Program and also the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC). A $10 PLT material fee is required to attend the workshop. Participants will receive the Growing Up WILD Curriculum and PLT Early Childhood Curriculum free. Lunch will not be provided; bring a sack lunch. Participants will receive 6 hours of Arkansas Department of Education approved professional development credit. Contact Hollie Sanders at [email protected] for more information and to register.
