The latest in Beaver Watershed Alliance's Quarterly Speaker Series, "The Importance of Fire: Sustainability and Resiliency of Forests and Source Water Protection" explores fire as one of the most misunderstood and underrated tools available for watershed management. Attendees will learn about the importance of fire to the history of Ozark forests and the tremendous benefits to protecting drinking water that properly managed fire provides. Speakers include Levi Horrell, a private lands biologist with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Raven Lawson, watershed protection manager with Central Arkansas Water. Lunch and networking will begin at 11:30 a.m. with presentations starting at noon. The Arkansas Forestry Association Education Foundation is providing lunch.
