Habitat: Occurs in glades and extremely rocky, open woodlands over shale, sandstone, and novaculite.

Causes for Concern: Restricted to a narrow range in the Ouachita Mountains of western Arkansas. Dependent on dry, open habitat at risk from succession of woody plants in the absence of fire or other disturbance.
Global Range: Arkansas.
