Causes for Concern: Echinacea paradoxa is dependent on open dolomite or limestone glade habitat which is threatened by the encroachment of woody species (particularly eastern redcedar) in the absence of fire. It is also threatened by development and poaching.
Global Range: Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas (var. paradoxa) and Arbuckle Mountains of southeastern Oklahoma (var. neglecta).
