Habitat: Typically found on steep slopes and bluffs in glade-like openings. It may also be found in adjacent shortleaf pine-oak forests, especially those that are dry. Often associated with shale and novaculite substrates.
Flowering Date: May - June
Fruiting Date: late May - July
Causes for Concern: Restricted to a narrow range in the Ouachita Mountains.
Global Range: Parts of the Ouachita Mountains in western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma.
